Atiku promises more federal presence in Southern Kaduna

In continuation of his campaign tour of the country to canvass for votes against the 2023 general elections, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Alhaji Atiku Abubakar yesterday stormed the Southern Kaduna, promising more presence of federal establishments in the area when elected coming 2023.

Atiku made the promise during a meeting with stakeholders in Kafanchan, the headquarters of Jema’a local government area of Kaduna state on Monday.

The presidential candidate said he was aware of the challenges facing the area, with the view of looking into them and finding solutions if given the mandate.

He observed that as an educational and agricultural base, the area deserved more presence of the federal government to develop the two sectors among others.  

Earlier, speaking on behalf of Christian leaders, Reverend Paul Anya, prayed to God to give Atiku Abubakar strength to fulfill his promises of tackling the problems of insecurity bedeviling the area and the state in general if he becomes the president.

Anya said the PDP was known for programmes having direct bearing to the welfare of the people against which backdrop he admonished the presidential candidate to restore the sponsorship of pilgrimage of Christians to the Holy Land of Jerusalem.

Speaking on behalf of youths and students of southern Kaduna, A PDP stalwart in the State Mr Danjuma Sarki informed the PDP flag bearer that the largest industry in the area is education, and make a passionate appeal to Atiku Abubakar to consider the establishment of a Federal University in the area when elected in 2023.

The PDP presidential candidate had earlier met with traditional rulers at the palace of the Chief of Kagoro and Islamic clerics at the palace of the Emir of Jema’a in Kafanchan.
