2023: Gombe PDP governorship candidate raises alarm over cloned voice

The Gombe state 2023 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Muhammad Jibrin Barde, has raised the alarm over alleged cloning of his voice through audio recording which is currently in circulation, mostly in the social media.

Barde said the aim of the mischief makers was to pitch him against key members of PDP in the state in order to cause confusion and disharmony among united members of the party.

A statement on Friday by Barde Media Office said, “It has come to our attention that an audio is in circulation where the voice of Muhammad Jibrin Barde is cloned by some unscrupulous elements in order to create disaffection between himself and other leaders of the PDP.

“Everyone knows Mr. Barde holds and respect everyone in high esteem and regards even though they may have differed politically.

“We all know the respect and value to which Mr. Barde respects his and others parents, and therefore will not resort to such unguarded utterances.

“We regret the inconveniences the action of such unscrupulous elements may have caused everyone.

“We will like to appeal to our respected party elders and members across the state to remain resolute in our pursuit of rescuing Gombe state and also hereby urge all to disregard the audio.

“It is on record that Barde is an accomplished banker and a businessman. He is a goal-getter, ambitious, daring but not a desperate politician.

“The governorship hopeful is set to take Gombe state to a new level of governance. He has equipped himself. He understands the peculiar needs of his people as he always feels their pulse.

“He is unhappy that his people have not gotten the best deal in the incumbent administration. All these have already spurred Barde to painstakingly build a blueprint that would guide his affairs in the state if elected.

“Unlike some members of the political class who are known for many promises with no intention to fulfill them, Barde has modestly promised just three things to the good people of Gombe state. First, to be fair to all, keep Gombe’s trust intact and to be honest in all his dealings”, the statement said.
