Ebonyi state government under the leadership of Governor David Umahi Monday embarked on profiling of over 34,000 farmers in the state for the years farming season.
The state stated this through a statement by its commissioner for information and orientation and Acting Commissioner for Human Capital Development and Monitoring, Uchenna Orji stated that 200 farmers are to be profiled in each of the 171 wards across the state.
In the statement, Orji stressed that no person would be required to pay money in order to be profiled, and added that all categories of the employable citizenry
are free to participate in this year’s farming season.
The statement reads, “as part of the state government’s preparations to profile
rice, cassava and maize farmers for the 2020 farming season, the state
executive council sub-committee on profiling of farmers has developed
forms for distribution across the 171 wards in the state.”
