2019: Benue students vow to vote only credible candidates

A group, under the aegis of Benue State Students in Diaspora (BSSD), in conjunction with 360 Degrees Leadership Movement,  has vowed to support only leaders who have credibility, integrity and sterling leadership quality capable of driving the national economy and welfare of citizens of the Benue state and Nigeria as a whole. The leader of the group Comrade Paul Udehagbomade made the statement in Makurdi, the Benue state capital during governorship campaign flag-off of the the All Progressives Congress (APC) held at IBB Square over the weekend.

Paul pointed out that for the past seven years, students of the state could not have their scholarship paid despite the numerous efforts made, but yielded no result.

It was during the campaign period that one year scholarship disbursement was made, a situation he described as political and another scheming for second term.

He further disclosed that the association whose aim is to associate and endorse leaders who have people at heart, who are visionary, inspiring and creative, capable of creating employment for women and the youth.

The president of National Union of Benue State Students (NUBESS) University of Abuja chapter, stressed that Benue students are education-loving and are easily identified through their brilliant performance wherever they are studying.

Udehagbo frowned at the high level of unemployed graduates in the state. He noted that the teeming unemployed graduates results to loss of certificate value. He said the inability of leaders to plan ahead to engage the graduates who come out of the universities and other higher institutions of learning yearly was bad. He categorically backs Emmanuel Jime and his running mate, Samuel Odeh who are APC governorship candidates in Benue state in the 2019 general elections.
