2014 Hajj: New MPWB director charges officials on diligence

Staff of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Board (FCT MPWB) have been charged to be honest and to discharge their duties diligently as a total of 2497 intending pilgrims from the territory were expected to perform this year’s Hajj.
The new director of the board, Malam Bashir Muhammad, gave the charge while addressing staff of the board after assumption of office in Abuja.

Until his appointment Malam Bashir Muhammad who took over from Hajiya Fatima Suleiman Gummi was the Director Security Services of the FCTA.
He said there was the need for the staff to be dedicated to their duty and abide by rules and regulations of the service, saying that the administration would not condone any act of corruption and indiscipline.
The director called for the cooperation of all staff and other stakeholders to ensure the success of the 2014 hajj exercise in line with the desire of the Minister of State for FCT, Oloye Olajumoke Akinjide.

He warned staff against acts capable of tarnishing the image of the administration and the country at large.
He reassured that FCTA was committed to providing First Class services to the FCT pilgrims and would ensure a hitch-free exercise.
While receiving the new Director, the Deputy Director Operations of the Board, Malam AbdurRahim Muhammad Yahaya, assured the director of the staff’s readiness for a successful operation in this year.
The deputy director said arrangements were in top gear towards the execution of the entire 2014 Hajj operation.
He, however, added that the board was making efforts to improve on its last year’s experience to record more successes this year.
