An Islamic scholar in Kurudu, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Abdulrauf Yinka Abdulsalam, was recently blessed with a set of twin children after praying and waiting for 17 years of marriage.
Speaking with our correspondent yesterday in Abuja, Abdulsalam said with what Allah had done for the family, he had understood that nothing in this world was for do-or-die.
He said he had been praying for over 17 years, but believed Allah’s time had not come for him to answer his prayers and that with his faith in the Lord, He had decided to blessed him in double-fold.
On whether or not he was under pressure from family members, Abdulsalam said: “I did not was under any pressure; even though there was little from my side, I am lucky to have parents and friends who understand Allah and understand me. But, sincerely speaking, there were trying moments.
“I never thought of giving up with Allah because there was nothing I requested from Him that He would not give to me. If Allah thinks I needed it 17 years back, He would have given it to me.”
He advised people to do away from do-or-die attitude of getting things from Allah, saying that “the only do-or-die thing is worshiping Allah.”
