150 women IDPs receive hygiene, dignity kits in Yobe


The United Nation Population Fund (UNFRA) in partnership with Action Health Incorporated (AHI)have on Wednesday distributed hygiene and dignity kits to 150 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) women at Kassaisa community of Damaturu,Yobe state.

The hygiene and dignity materials includes soaps, vaselines, toothpastes, tooth brushes and detergent.

Others are disposals pad, face masks, pants, hair cumbs, rechargeable lanterns, washable pads, wrappers, shaving stick and whistles respectively.

Distributing the hygiene and dignity materials to the beneficiaries, the UNFPA state programme officer, Auwal Bashir and that of (AHI) Pamela Alkali said, it was aimed at addressing the critical dignity need of women and girls of reproductive age.

The state Programme officers called on the beneficiaries to make good use of the items given to them for the purpose intended.

Also, the head of office Nigerian, United Nations OCHA,Trond Jensen with his entourage ware also at the kassaisa community to witness the distribution of various humanitarian assistants to IDPs leaving in the community.

Jensen who led Various non governmental organizations such as plan International, IOM,UN OCHA, UNFPA and AHI also visited stabilisation center at the state Specialist hospital Damaturu, where they interacted with medical personnel on the operations of the facility, progress and it challenges.
