The 11th Miss Tourism Nigeria, Ambassador Queen Ebere Joy Ekekwe, Wednesday distributed assorted food items to women of Kwali area council.
Speaking at Dr. Ladi Kwali Pottery Centre, Kwali, Abuja, Miss Tourism Nigeria said she had the support of the Nigeria Tourism Development Authority (NTDA) to help people because the economy is very tough,
She said even if it is one or two families that receives such assistance, it would be okay.
She added that the plan is to distribute the items to many families.
“So, we are appealing to people, government or private individuals to come in and help the poor families, the sick and the elderly.
“The challenge is funding and I want government to come and help us in this project,” she stated.
Queen Ebere said she is happy to come to Kwali area council, and it will not be her last time of coming.
She said she came to promote the women and the young and to encourage them for the development of the community.
She applauded the Gbari women for promoting culture and tourism in FCT and beyond.
Earlier, in his welcome address, the chairman of Kwali area council, Hon. Danladi Chia, who is also the FCT ALGON chairman, represented by his wife, Mrs. Hannatu Danladi Chia, commended the 11th Miss Tourism Nigeria.
