10th NASS: Umahi, Nwifuru back Abbas for speakership 

Ebonyi state Governor David Umahi and  the Governor-elect Francis Nwifuru with some elected members of the  House of Representatives have throw in their support for Hon. Tajudeen Abbas for 10th Speakership of the House of Representatives

Hon Abbas, who is one of the  front runner for the speakership race was said to have been picked by the President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu as his sole candidate.

In a statement issued by media team of Tajudeen Abbas in Abuja, said Governor Umahi, who is a senator-elect gave his support during a consultation visit by  Abbas to the Ebonyi state governor lodge in Asokoro.

Umahi explained that his findings on Abbas made him to endorse  the aspirant  for Speakership, saying Abbas has several legislative experience and political acumen spanning over decades which speak more of him.

Umahli stated that, he was surprised that even the new members-elect from different political parties were supporting Abbas for Speakership, which means he is a candidate to b recognised.

Governor Umahi said that Ebonyi governor-elect is ready to  work for the success of Abbas, and have started canvassing for his him.

Umahi promised that all members-elect  into the House of Representatives from Ebonyi state will vote for Abbas.

In his response, Hon Abbas thanks the governor for his  support, promised to work to achieve result and cooperate with the president-elect to develop Nigeria.

Earlier member-elect who did not want his name mentioned said all members-elect will work for the success of Abbas, saying that the aspirant has the qualities to lead the House of Representatives.
