The Zamfara state governor, Dauda Lawal, has reiterated his administration’s determination to rescue the state from the current socio-economic decay, stressing that he will regain his mandate in the rerun election.
The governor made the disclosure while receiving a mammoth crowd of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters who received him at Kwatarkwashi town of Bungudu local government area when he returned to the state from an official trip outside the country, Monday.
According to him, despite the state’s economic meltdown occasioned by banditry and insurgency, he is on a mission to rescue Zamfara in line with his electioneering.
“I found it necessary to introduce the rescue mission policy in order to salvage our good people from the current insecurity and socio-economic hardship and I will never compromise in that regard,” he said.
Gov Dauda expressed optimism over the large turnout of his supporters to receive him, stressing that the PDP under his leadership will do all it could to bring back peace to the state.
“I want to assure all good people of Zamfara state regardless of their political opinion that I will work hand in hand with the federal government to fight against banditry in the state for peace to thrive,” Governor Dauda assured.
On the recent Appeal Court judgement, which declared Zamfara 2023 election inconclusive, Governor Dauda described the judgement as a temporary setback.
“The recent Appeal Court judgement to me is a temporary setback and PDP will remain the ruling party in Zamfara, God willing,” he assured
