Yobe PDP candidates in 2019 polls defect to APC

Yobe state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates in the 2019 general elections have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

The special adviser to Governor Mai Mala Buni on political and legislative matters, Alhaji Aji Yarima Bularafa, disclosed this Friday in Damaturu, the state capital.

Bularafa said “there is no opposition as far as Yobe state APC is concerned,” adding that “recently most of the principal officers of the PDP including their deputy governor’s candidate in the 2019 general elections among others across the 17 local government area defected to the ruling party, APC, in the state.”

“There is no opposition as far as Yobe APC is concerned. This may not be unconnected with the good leadership Governor Mai Mala Buni is offering to the people of the state.

“This is part of the tremendous achievements of Governor Buni, being the APC caretaker chairman of the extraordinary convention planning committee. Buni is trying to reposition APC at the national level. So, our own here in Yobe is simple,” he said.

According to him, APC in Yobe is one family and appealed to the members to remain calm as the party has no cases of disagreement, dispute, or political marginalisation.
