UPP approves appointment of new deputy national chair

The National Working Committee of the United Progressive Party UPP has approved the appointment of Chief Ejike Uche as deputy national chairman, South, the endorsement took place during the declaration of over 85% members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for UPP in Enugu.
In a press statement signed by its national chairman, Chief Chekwas Okorie, the defection of APGA chieftains to UPP was led by its former acting national chairman, Ejike Uche at the occasion which witnessed over 18 members of its erstwhile National Working Committee (NWC), 30 State Chairmen, Zonal Officers and some Members of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the party join UPP.  The statement said other notable leaders present at the declaration included the former deputy national chairman (North) of the party, Alh. Sadiq Masalla, Dr. Isa Jega, the Chairman of all APGA state chairmen and the state chairman of APGA in Plateau State, South South zone leader, Mr. SundayObasahuan, South West  leader, Chief Osonubi Adekunle.
The statement noted that the event was a cordial amalgamation of two political parties with similar vision, ideology and progressive   orientation.
The statement reads in part “In the spirit of like-mindedness and fraternity, the recommendation to appoint Chief (Sir) Chris Ejike Uche who led the overwhelming majority of APGA leaders and members to join the UPP as the deputy national chairman of the party, South of Nigeria has been approved by the UPP National Working Committee.”

Other crucial decision approved by the NWC of UPP is to urgently convene an extraordinary National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party whose agenda is to reposition the party and consolidate on the recent gains of new membership of the party.
