Joint Unions of Action Committee (JUAC) of the Federal Capital Territory Administration and Federal Capital Development Authority (FCTA/FCDA) has commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, for the “sweeping measures the Administration has adopted recently to strengthen the institutions of governance.”
This was contained in a letter of commendation sent to the Minister by the union’s Chairman, Comrade Titus Okoro, in its official reaction to the recent promotion exercise benefitting over 3, 000 officers of the FCTA besides teachers.
He said the action was workers-friendly policies and programmes while acknowledging that “these actions have positively impacted on the progression of staff with attendant benefits.”
“These actions have boosted the morale of FCTA staff, it is expected that more workers-friendly policies would be rolled out by your Administration,” he said.
It would also be recalled that the Administration commenced the payment of Weigh-in Allowances for members of the FCTA/FCDA chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ).
Blueprint gathered from other staff members who spoke in various medium threads on the development noted that under the minister, workers’ salaries and entitlements had been promptly paid.
They also noted that upon assumption of duties, the minister refurbished and released 25 buses for staff transportation, a measure which seriously alleviated the pressure of the economic situation on members of staff, among others.
