All is set for the public presentation of a book in honour of the outgoing vice-chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor Sulyman Age Abdulkareem.
The book titled: ‘Footprint of a Gaint’, is a documentary on the tenure and achievements of the professor.
Written by the institution’s director of corporate affairs unit and former deputy editor, This Day newspapers , Mr. Kunle Akogun, the book showcases Prof. Abdulkareem’s exemplary leadership quality both in his career and in the administration of the university since he became the institution’s vice chancellor.
The ceremony scheduled to hold Friday, at the main auditorium of the institution by 9:00am, will mark the official exit of Prof. Abdulkareem as the 10th VC of the university.
The institution’s Registrar, Dr. Fola M. Olowoleni, and the publisher and Editor in-Chief of Premium Times newspaper, Mr. Dapo Olorunyomi, will do the book review.
The ceremony is also coming amid high expectations from Nigerian parents and students yearning for an end to the 8 month old strike embarked upon by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
