It was tribute galore for the late Chief (Dr) during a service of songs held in honour of the deceased by his family at the National Ecumenical Centre, Abuja, on Thursday. He transited to glory on January 6, 2025 at the age of 84.
The service of songs attended by eminent Nigerians across all walks of life and former President of Ghana, Nana Akufo – Addo, was full of eulogies for the deceased who lived his life for service to God and humanity .
Among those who paid glowing tributes was a distinguished academic at the University of Oxford and former Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Ms. Arunma Oteh.
She described Chief Anohu as “an exemplary leader, husband, father, and patriot” who embodied excellence and foresight in both family and national service.
“Chief Anohu was a man ahead of his times going by the impactful life he lived and enormous contributions made to the development of his State (Anambra) and Nigeria at large.
In his tribute, one of the children of the deceased, Rt. Hon. Emeka Anohu, who represented Ihiala Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives during the 8th National Assembly described his father as a disciplined man full of “integrity, humility and the fear of God”.
Chief Anohu at different times while alive served as Permanent Secretary, Commissioner, etc, in Anambra state aside some other key positions at the national level.
