A wave of calls from the people of Adamawa state, spanning the young, old, men and women, has erupted, urging Hon. Barrister Aliyu Wakili Boya, the dynamic House of Representatives member for Fufore/Song federal constituency, to elevate his political ambition to either the governorship of Adamawa state or a senatorial seat in the 2027 elections.

This growing movement, rooted in admiration for his remarkable achievements in just two years as a federal lawmaker and Chairman, House Committee on Police Institutions, portrays Boya as a transformative leader whose capabilities have outgrown the confines of the House of Representatives.

Since his election in 2023, on the platform of the House of Representatives, Hon. Boya has earned a reputation as a “man of the people,” delivering an extraordinary array of legislative and constituency projects that have left an indelible mark on his constituents and beyond.

From sponsoring landmark educational bills to electrifying rural communities and facilitating massive empowerment programmes, his record has sparked a clarion call: Adamawa needs him in a higher office to amplify the dividends of democracy.

At a recent gathering of community leaders, youth groups, and women’s associations in Fufore, speakers passionately articulated their case. “Hon. Boya remains the only pillar for everyone to rally around in APC,” declared a youth leader in Song.

“He has shown capability and capacity to handle bigger tasks as governor or senator. His achievements in such a short time prove he’s ready to enlarge the distribution of democracy’s benefits across Adamawa state.”

Echoing this sentiment, an elderly woman identified as Hajiya, a women’s advocate, implored, “It’s better to leverage the traction of your loyal followers to secure the governorship and make our state proud again.

“You are the best bet for senator or governor. Please don’t disappoint us by saying no. Just agree, and we will deliver you in 2027. This is our way of paying you back by doing ourselves the favour of electing you”, declared another young and vibrant supporter from Fufore.

The favour reflects a deep-seated belief that Boya’s leadership transcends his current role. “His good deeds speak louder than words,” said Elder Yakubu. “In two years, he’s achieved what many couldn’t in decades. We need him where he can do even more.”

A Record of Excellence

Hon. Boya’s tenure since 2023 has been a masterclass in impactful representation. Elected with 46,943 votes (51.2%) after overcoming a wrongful exclusion by INEC through a 2022 court victory, Boya hit the ground running. His legislative and community achievements are staggering:

Educational Transformation:

In 2024, he sponsored bills to establish the Federal College of Education (Technical) in Fufore and the Federal College of Health Technology in Song, both nearing fruition.

These initiatives promise to train teachers, health workers, and skilled graduates, addressing critical shortages in Adamawa.

Security Leadership:

As Chairman of the House Committee on Police Institutions, Boya has driven parliamentary oversight of police reforms, facilitating the recruitment of 136 youths from his constituency into the Nigeria Police Force and donating three Hilux patrol vehicles to local divisions.

Infrastructure Milestones:

He secured N20 billion for the ongoing rehabilitation of the 85 km Jabbi Lamba-Malabu-Sarau-Belel Road, linking Nigeria to Cameroon, and installed over 5,000 solar-powered streetlights and 30 transformers, illuminating and energising Fufore and Song.

Empowerment Extravaganza: His Mega Empowerment exercise reached over 13,000 constituents with cars, tricycles, motorcycles, sewing machines, and farming equipment. He also distributed N30 million in startup cash to 60 entrepreneurs, food palliatives to 15,000 people, and scholarships to over 2,000 tertiary students.

Community Development:

Boya sank 20 solar-powered boreholes, built classrooms across multiple schools, and trained 250 women and 100 youths in entrepreneurial skills, while offering free eye surgeries to over 6,000 residents.

These feats, among others, have electrified his constituency—literally and figuratively—prompting calls for him to take on a broader mandate.

Outgrowing the House: A Case for Higher Office

Analysts and constituents alike argue that Boya’s achievements signal a readiness for greater responsibility. “He’s outdone the House of Representatives,” said political commentator.

“His ability to secure federal projects, influence national security policy, and uplift his people suggests he’s a governor or senator in waiting. Adamawa hasn’t seen this level of energy in years.”

Residents point to specific examples: the road rehabilitation boosting trade, the transformers ending years of darkness, and the educational bills promising a brighter future.

“He’s not just a lawmaker; he’s a visionary,” said Fatima, a teacher in Song. “Imagine what he could do as governor or senator.”

The Road to 2027

With the 2027 elections on the horizon, Boya’s supporters are mobilizing. “We’re not just asking—we’re ready to work,” vowed Joseph. “His record is our campaign; his results are our votes.”

“Whether he chooses the governorship—where he could steer Adamawa’s development—or the Senate, where his voice could shape national policy, the consensus is clear: Hon. Boya’s time for higher office has come, says Bulus, a trader from Fufore.

As of now, Boya has not publicly responded to these calls. Yet, with his constituents chanting, “Don’t say no,” and pledging to “deliver him,” the pressure is mounting.

For a man whose legal battle for inclusion became a triumph of justice, whose legislative acumen has birthed institutions, and whose grassroots touch has transformed lives, the question isn’t capability—it’s ambition.

Will Hon. Aliyu Wakili Boya heed the call of Adamawa’s people and take his service to the next level? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain: his followers are ready to make history with him.
