Tinubu to Green Economy Summit open in Niger 

 

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will on Tuesday declare open the first ever Green Economy Summit in Niger state and unveil the  Green Economy Blueprint which would guide developmental actions of the state. 

A statement issued in Minna weekend and signed by Aliyu Umar, said the chairman of Communication Committee of the Summit, over 500 participants drawn from across the world would be in attendance. 

He said: “The summit is strategically aligned with the United Nations International Day for Climate Action. It will be a forum where discussions and solutions would be proffered to issues of decarbonising energy systems, circular economy, waste management, green agriculture, food security, eco-tourism, and community development, among others.”

He added that objectives of the Niger State Green Economy Summit are to serve as a platform to attract local and international investors interested in green assets trading, green technologies, renewable energy projects, and sustainable financing initiatives. 

He added that the summit would emphasise the role of local communities in sustainable development, thereby empowering communities with the necessary knowledge and resources to engage in eco-friendly practices to benefit from green initiatives.
