Task force rescues 2 women from kidnappers in Kebbi 

A security task force comprising the military, DSS, Police, Civil defence and vigilantes Tuesday rescued two women from kidnappers’ den in Kebbi.


The two victims were successfully rescued by the joint operation of the security operatives in Maiyama and Suru local government areas of the state.


The director in charge of security, Cabinet Office, Birnin Kebbi,
AbdulRahman Usman,  stated this at a press briefing.


He said: “On the directive of the governor, Dr. Nasir
Idris, to the joint task force to go after the kidnappers
after the information about the abduction of the two women reached him, the security services immediately swung into action. 


“The combined team of the security operatives, trailed the bandits from Giro forest to Boma, down to Zugu Liba forest where the two victims were rescued unhurt.” 


He added that when it became apparent to the kidnappers that they could no longer withstand the pressure from the security operatives, they abandoned their victims and escaped.

According to the director, the two victims were successfully handed over to the Sole Administrator of Maiyama local government area, Hon. Adamu Aliyu Liba and they  have since been reunited with their families.
