No fewer than 50 Referees have concluded a two-day refresher training programme organised by the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation (NTF) as part of activities heralding series of barely two weeks of events.
The programme which held inside the indoor hall of Abuja National stadium followed days of Korean Ambassador’s championship and Annual General Congress of the Nigeria Taekwondo Community where 2018 calendar loaded with events was endorsed.
The action-packed week would be brought to a climax with a first-ever blistering and blockbuster Taekwondo competition, Nigeria Open between Saturday December 9 and Monday December 11, 2019 at the same venue.
Afterwards, there would be an award night where outstanding athletes and other Stakeholders will be honoured on Tuesday, December 12, 2017.
Talking about the trust of the present NTF Board, President Elizabeth Binga revealed that nothing short of globally acceptable practice would be applied by the federation in an effort to open floodgate of development for Nigerian Taekwondo.
“We are not resting on owls in making sure our mandate is fulfilled. Already we have trained almost 100 coaches within three months of our inauguration. Many more training of both coaches and referees will take place in the year 2018.”
