Former Benue state Governor, Gabriel Suswam has regretted the level at which security of lives has been so poor to the extent that people now move in fear in Benue state at the moment.

He said: “I questioned the rationale behind the amnesty programme when it was announced, but thank God, they are killing and arresting themselves. The amnesty was a ploy to deceive the people while they pile up arms to cause confusion during elections.”
Suswam spoke yesterday at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) state secretariat while inaugurating the Benue state and local government officials elected during the last party’s congresses.
“The abysmal and ineptitude of the Ortom, All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue state is the undoing of the people who failed to speak when the APC came with multitudes of lies to deceive them.”

He cited the example of the people of Israel and Moses when he led them out of Egypt.
Suswam wondered why the Samuel Ortom-led APC government had borrowed so much in less than one year, but could not pay salaries of workers, regretting that the same salary issue was used a campaign tool during the 2015general elections.
He described as “unfortunate,” especially that even the Kpojime committee confirmed he borrowed only N17 billion in eight years, but the APC government turned around to blame him on everything.
“People are dying of hunger; women now give birth to tiny babies and children are looking malnourished all over the state. This will make our children have poor intellectual acumen as a result of growing up as malnourished children,” he said.
