A chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa state, Alhaji Saleh Taki, has described former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar as an iconic political figure who deserved a special place of honour in the corridors of partisan politics.
Speaking with newsmen in Kano yesterday, Taki said Atiku had proved his worth as a politician, who could be entrusted with the mandate to rule Nigeria, adding that with his experience and populist background, he had what it takes to propel Nigeria to greater height.
According to him, the former vice president is treading the footsteps of Buhari and Obadanjo in the parlance of leadership and the ability and capacity to keep Nigeria united, stressing that he was the most powerful Vice President ever to be produced in Africa.

He, however, stated that Nigeria as a promising political entity in Africa, had reached the “apogee of democratic excellence and wider acceptability at the time many African countries were willing to take a cue from its decades of experience in leadership affirming that with Atiku given the mandate to prove his mettle the future would be rosy”.
Taki, a five-time chairman of Kazaure local government council and a onetime Special Assistant to the immediate past governor of Jigawa state, Alhaji Sule Lamido, however  stated that Nigeria was witnessing  an all encompassing change under the Buhari administration with myriad of reforms taking shape to the satisfaction of all Nigerians.
