Stop smear campaign against Adamawa SSG, ex aspirant warns group

A one time Governorship aspirant in Adamawa State Alhaji Lawan Uba, has condemned the recent media attack on the Secretary to the State government (SSG) Bashir Ahmed by some groups in the State.

Uba made the condemnation while addressing newsmen in Adamawa over recent developments which has pitched the embattled SSG against some people in the State.

The group had alleged the SSG of mismanaging the Coronavirus fund accrued to the State.

But while describing the Campaign as unnecessary, Uba noted that their action was borne out of envy and malice.

The scenario according to him is a storm in a tea cup, he then cautioned the group against their destructive tendency, insisting that Bashir cannot be discredited or pulled down by mischief makers.

He said, “Bashir stands tall and infact, the tallest of all since creation of the state. As the engine room of Adamawa state government, Bashir was enjoying the full confidence of his boss.

” He can never be deterred or cowed to bending the rules for the selfish benefit of those out to reap  where they didn’t sow.

“Rather than condemning the SSG, I think they should seek proper education on the operations of the Adamawa State Covid-19 Containment Committee which by law is empowered to spend money before accounting for it.

” The SSG who is the chairman, decided to put in place a procurement committee, co-chaired by the CAN chairman, Bishop Dami Mamza and the chairman of Muslim Coucil, Alhaji Gambo Jika.

“Unknown to them is the fact that the SSG is a man that is well understood by his boss,, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.

” So, looking at the gamut of all the issues raised against him, his accusers and mischiefsmakers using the social media to attack him only succeeded in revealing their ignorance and desperation to harm a man who is standing out.

He then called on the good people of Adamawa State to desist from smearing people hard-earned reputation on the pages of Newspapers.
