Stock market loses N6bn

Mixed performance and portfolio reshuffling continued on the floor of Nigerisn Stock Exchange with the composite All Share Index closing low, sheding 0.04 per cent. The decline was due to persitent profit taking and cautious trading adopted by investors.

Specifically, The NSE All Share Index depreciated by 12.48 basis points to 35021.26 points from 35033.74 traded the previous day.

Market Capitalisation of listed equities also declined by N6 billion to N18.304 trillion from N18.310 trillion recorded on Tuesday.

Investors traded 283.090 million shares valued at N3.420 billion in 3855 deals against 306.918 million shares worth N3.274 billion in 4500 deals.

A review of transactions shiwed that FCMB group led gainers table during the day, gaining N0.08 kobo to close at N3.08 kobo, Stanbic IBTC followed with a gain of N0.05 kobo to close at N44.02 kobo, Zenith Bank Plc added N0.05 kobo to close at N23.45 kobo, Lovesstock increased by N0.04 kobo to close at N1.40 kobo, Unity Bank up by N0.03 kobo to close at N0.67 kobo.

On the contrary, Ardova Plc topped losers chart, dropping by N1.23 kobo to close at N13.20 kobo, Fidson Healthcare trailed with a loss of N0.38 kobo to close at N4.50 kobo, Neimeth International Pharmacuetical Plc fell by N0.13 kobo to close at N2.40 kobo, Julius Berger declined by N0.10 kobo to close at N18.40 kobo while Champion Breweries dipped by N0 08 kobo to close at N0.90 kobo.
