SON urges stakeholders to abide by standard

The Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON) has urged producers and companies to abide by the laws of the organisations avoid any penalties or conviction.

 Dr James Agbonhese,  a resource Person of the one day sensitization workshop on SON Act and ease of doing business made the called while speaking on Tuesday in Gombe.

He said that SON Act would not tolerate anything contrary to producing quality product to Nigerian and international community.

He also advised them to understand that the Act gives SON power to monitor and  ensure that only standard product are being produce for the consumers.

Also speaking at the workshop, Director General (DG)  Mr Osita Abolama promises to continue providing enabling environment for the ease of doing business in the as provide by the law.

The DG who was represented by Mr Umar Yakubu, SON Gombe state coordinator, said the organization had developed a robust, efficient and interactive website to promote ease of access to information on its services and activities.

“Today’s interaction is one in the series of SON general sensitization of stakeholders across the nation on varying issues relates to different sectors of economy.

“This has become necessary because standardization of affect positively, the economy of any nation,” he said.
