Jigawa state Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development, Alhaji Kabiru Hassan Shugungum has said accountability, transparency and prudent management of resources will continue to be the watch-wards of Governor Badaru Abubakar-led administration.
The commissioner stated this last week while giving a keynote address at the opening ceremony of a five-day workshop organised in collaboration with the State and Local Governance Reform Project (SLOGOR) in Dutse.
The European Union (EU)-sponsored partnership programme was organised for Directors of Administration and General Services (DAGS), Directors for Planning, Research and Statistics (DPRS), Treasurers, Accountants and Cashiers in the 27 local governments of the state.
A release made available to Blueprint by the Public Relations Officer of the ministry, Sunday said the capacity building training was aimed at availing the participants with policy initiations and implementations as well as transformation of government policies for service delivery.
In his welcome remark, the state project coordinator of SLOGOR, Engineer Hassan Abba Hassan, called on the participants to take advantage of the training to advance their capacity for service delivery.
