Jos

Plateau state governor, Simon Lalong, has described the death of Gen John Shagaya (rtd.) as a painful reality.
He said he received with grief stricken heart, the news of the demise of General John Nanzip Shagaya (rtd.), which sad event occurred as a result of a fatal auto crash.
Governor Lalong stated this in a press release issued by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Hon. Samuel Nanle yesterday in Jos.
“The death of General Shagaya (rtd.) is a painful reality that the state will live to contend with; the vacuum it has created in the top advisory echelon will rub the state and nation of the wealth of his experience garnered over the years of his meritorious professional military, public and business service,” he said.
Lalong said, in this moment of deep grief surrounding the Shagaya family, the Taroh Nation and the many friends and associates of the late General, he extends his “deepest condolences and assurances of prayers for God’s comforting grace, on behalf of his family, the government and good people of Plateau state.”
