As I am learning to ‘scratch the surface’, then I observed there is intrigue in the camp of all three major political players in Bauchi state as we approach the 2023 general elections. Most of the supporters allege that they were not given a fair shake, especially those in government; that’s the main reason why switching camps has become very obvious.
However, what distinguishes Sadique Baba Abubakar from the rest is, of course, his unique character. He neither uses vulgar language nor lives flamboyantly to impress. Those who interact with him will affirm his down-to-earth humility, composure, and honesty. These characteristics can’t be taken away from him; even his perceived political rivals can attest to his intellectual prowess and daring ability to get exceptional positive results.
In fact, He’s so reserved in such a way that no one will interact with him without being attracted to his personality. Perhaps you might ask, “Why was he decorated with the CFR and why Kashim Shettima more often eulogises him?” The topic for another day.
Sadiq is an intellectual par excellence, a self-made man whose humility and charm speak volumes, and an individual who Allah has blessed in numerous ways. There will be hardly a time you interact with him, time for prayers, and not him being the first person to say, “Let’s pray.” He never jokes with his relationship with his maker.
In whatever guise, he shuns violence even when his campaign materials are being destroyed in broad daylight. As his followers often complain, perhaps, this man does not understand how the game is played or conceivably has a different approach to the way he does things. In some instances, we told them, “We have to give them a dose of their own medicine,” but he rejected the idea. However, what I’m trying to say is that Air Marshall Sadique Abubakar rtd, CFR. the incoming governor of Bauchi state, insha Allah, is such a peaceful man.
