Relocation at MMIA:  Keyamo sets up 5- man task force

Stakeholders have expressed surprise at the composition of a five man task force who many affirmed lack requisite knowledge and experience in the task assigned to them by the minister, Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo.

They are to address the lingering challenges of relocating commercial airlines from the old terminal of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport as government plans to commence its renovation.

Chaos had been the order of the day since the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) suddenly required airlines to move their operations to the new facility against a ministerial directive which stipulated a timeline of October 1st, 2023.

An electronic statement by the  head, Press and Public Affairs of the ministry, Oluseyi Odutayo, named Hassan Musa, a retired permanent secretary and ex-director of department of Air Transport Management as the Team Leader with Adebayo Oladipo, the General Manager for Aerodrome at Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), and three special assistant to Mr Keyamo that includes Mr. Collins Mukoro, Mrs. Uyoyou Edhekpo and Mr. Henry Agbebire.

Industry watchers are miffed that no staff of FAAN is in the committee to ameliorate the teething problems of relocation that is directly under the purview of the agency that is endowed with seasoned professionals trained to manage such crisis.
