PCN sealed 387 pharmacies, patent medicine shops in Ibadan – Esumobi

The South – West Director and Head of Enforcement Department, of the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN), Pharm. Stephen Esumobi, has hinted that the Council has sealed up 387 Pharmacies and patent medicines shop in Ibadan

Pharm Esumobi dropped this hint while briefing newsmen on the activities of the PCN enforcement department in Ibadan over the weekend.

According to Pharm Esumobi during the enforcement exercise, 57 pharmacies and 330 patent medicines shops were sealed for illegal and breach of PCN operation regulations.

He stressed that during the enforcement exercise, his team visited 585 premises comprising of 406 Patent Medicines Shops (PMS) and 179 Pharmacies in Ibadan with  10 compliance directives issued while one of the operators of an unregistered patent medicine

Esumobi pointed out that some of the patent medicine shops were discovered selling medicines outside the approved drug list and engaging in clinical services they don’t have the knowledge and training to engage in.
