Osun guber: SDP denies Omisore membership

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has denied membership of former deputy governor of Osun state, Senator Iyiola Omisore.
Omisore has reportedly joined SDP and picked intent form to contest the September 22 governorship election in the state.
He has also painted his campaign office withdrawn from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with the colour and logo of SDP in Osogbo, the state capital.
Senator Omisore had left PDP and the party said his leaving would not affect its success in the coming governorship election.
Blueprint learnt that with the new development, Omisore may have lost the opportunity to contest the governorship under the PDP as all efforts by the leadership of the party to prevent him from dumping the party had proved futile.
Speaking at a press conference in Osogbo yesterday, Osun state Chairman of SDP, Chief Ademola Ishola, said “Omisore is only making influence with the national headquarters of the party.” He said the party only recognised Messrs Kolawole Oladeji, AbdulWakil AbdulWahab and Kehinde Atanda, as governorship aspirants in the party. According to Ishola, “Omisore is only relating with Abuja.
He has not submitted his intent to us here.
He wanted to make an influence with them in Abuja. This is where he supposed to start his membership and we have not seen him here.
“A bonafide member of SDP must present himself and must have been given a membership card.
He must be a financial member of the party.”
