Omo – Agege commends Buhari on establishment of Federal Polytechnic Orogun, greets Osinbajo @ 64

 
The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo – Agege, has commended President  Muhammadu Buhari for approving  the establishment of the Federal Polytechnic Orogun, Delta state. 
Omo – Agege in separate statements issued in Abuja Monday, also felicitated with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on his 64 birthday.
In the first statement signed by his Special Adviser on Legislative and Plenary Matters , Prince Efe Duku, Omo – Agege said Mr  President’s approval for establishment of the federal Polytechnic was conveyed to him and  Obarisi of Urhoboland, in a letter dated February 23, 2021, referenced DHE/POLY/39/C.1/I/84 signed by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Arc. Sonny S. T. Echono, on behalf of the Honourable Minister of Education, Alhaji Adamu Adamu. 


The polytechnic as stated in the letter, will commence academic activities in October 2022.
According to him, ” President Buhari’s gracious approval of the founding and take-off of the Federal Polytechnic Orogun demonstrates yet again his clear leadership vision that our nation must embrace the future with a truly innovative educational system. One supplying world-class human resource portfolios for national and global development”.


He added that the Federal Polytechnic Orogun is another clear evidence of Mr. President’s admirable statesmanship, patriotic attention to strategic human capital development and deep love for the  people of Urhoboland.
The statement reads in part: “On behalf of our traditional, religious, political, women, and youth leaders, and indeed all our people, the Deputy President of the Senate is profoundly grateful to Mr. President for the realisation of the dream of the establishment of this academic institution. 
“The DSP is daily humbled by God’s amazing grace which is manifest in President Buhari’s support for his humble efforts to represent our people with honour, courage, and distinction in the Senate. 


“He is also thankful to his dear friend and brother, the Honourable Minister of Education, Alhaji Adamu Adamu, for his leadership and sense of integrity on this issue, like others .
“To our people, let us thank God Almighty by whose benevolence we are now being blessed with good and perfect gifts like never witnessed in our history. Let us celebrate this worthy achievement with prayers for Mr. President”.


In his congratulatory message to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on his 64th birthday, he said many Nigerians will continue to applaud him as a consistent and reform–minded performer.
He  described the nation’s Number Two Citizen as one of the key figures driving the All Progressives Congress and President Muhammadu Buhari’s change agenda. 
“Today, I join members of his family, and millions of Nigerians within and outside the country in celebrating the birthday of one of ours – the remarkable Vice President, Professor Oluyemi Oluleke Osinbajo, SAN, GCON – whose dogged pursuit of populist reforms left indelible imprints in Lagos State as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice between 1999 and 2007 and other party and national assignments. 


“He also distinguished himself at the international arena as staff member, United Nations Operations in Somalia, Justice Division, UNOSOM II as well as member of the United Nations Secretary General’s Committee of Experts on Conduct and Discipline of UN, Peacekeeping Personnel. 
“I pray that God will continue to sustain his resolute determination in supporting our dear President to make enduring positive impacts in the lives of Nigerians,” he stated. 
The Deputy President of the Senate also wished the legal luminary greater fulfillment in the years ahead.
