Osun: O’Ambulance rescues 50,282 accident victims, takes 5 delivery

Osun Ambulance Services have rescued 50,282 road accident victims, the General Manager, O’Ambulance, Dr Olusegun Babatunde, has disclosed.

Speaking at the ‘News Point’ of the Correspondents’ Chapel, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Osogbo, Babatunde said the agency has taken delivery of five pregnant women on public transport since it was founded in February 2013.

He disclosed that all the 49 ambulances have oxygen and the response period is within five minutes to the venue of accident. He said each of the 30 local governments has ambulance while the remaining ambulances were deployed to strategic locations and highways.

According to Babatunde, apart from prompt attention to road accident victims, O’Ambulance also offered referral services from one hospital to another for special or advanced treatment.

He said the public can reach the control room of O’Ambulance on 07080601212, 07080601313, noting that four staff been stationed at the control room to respond promptly.

Appealing to the people to always give way to the ambulance on emergency rescue mission, Babatunde assured that 200 paramedics staff have been trained and also undergoing further training at the accident and emergency unit of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital, LAUTECHTH, Osogbo.

He said 200 drivers are available to ensure easy movement and prompt response to accident victims, noting that the emergency is totally free.
