Nwabali, Iwobi, Bassey are early birds in Morocco, NFF confirms Finidi George

Super Eagles trio of Stanley Nwabali, Alex Iwobi , Moses Simon  and Jamilu Collins  have arrived the Super Eagles camp  in Marrakech, Morrocco ahead of the international friendlies against Ghana and Mali.

The early birds also include the likes of  Bruno Onyemaechi, Alhassan Yusuf, Ademola Lookman.

Other players in camp are Cyriel Dessers, Nathan Tella, Calvin Bassey, Semi Ajayi and Fisayo Dele -Bashiru.

More players are expected in camp yesterday (Tuesday). They include goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, Chidozie Awaziem, Frank Onyeka, Wilfried Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho.

Bright Osayi-Samuel will join today(Wednesday)

The players are billed to have their first training session at 4:30pm local time.

The Super Eagles will take on Ghana at the Grand de Stade Marrakech, Morocco on Friday, March 22.

Ththree-time African champions will face Mali four days later at the same venue.

This will be the first time the Super Eagles will reunite after their silver-medal finish at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) have confirmed  that Finidi George will be in the dugout for the two friendlies , twenty-one months after Finidi began understudying Jose Peseiro’s as Super Eagles assistant coach.

Blueprint can report authoritatively that Finidi held a meeting with players and officials in Marrakech, Morocco urging the players and backroom staff to rally him and give him their 100% support.

He also unfold his vision and philosophy for the team.

The two friendlies were put together by the NFF to prepare the team for their World Cup qualifiers. Nigeria will host South Africa next on June 6 before playing Benin away and hosting Rwanda later.
