NSRP/ONSA organise workshop on radicalization in Nigeria

As part of the ongoing efforts by various stakeholders in and outside Nigeria to find permanent solution to insurgency in Nigeria, Nigeria Stability and Reconciliation Programme, NSRP and Office of the National Security Adviser, ONSA is organizing a workshop on a study on Radicalization, Counter Radicalization and De-Radicalization in Nigeria.

A statement made available to Blueprint indicated that the workshop will hold today at Sheraton Hotel and Towers from 9.00 am to 4.00pm.

The statement said:  “As part of its initiative to support research aimed at improving policy and practice on conflict management and peace-building in Nigeria, NSRP collaborated with ONSA to support a study on the causes of radicalization, counter-radicalization and de-radicalization in Nigeria.”

“The study was conducted by Oxford Nigeria Research Network (ONRN) and the Development Research and Projects Centre (DRPC) in 2014.”

Finding and policy briefs to be discussed include: social processes and socialization; the ideological and micro factors; economy and society; macro regional context and process issues.
Various stakeholders such as members of the civil society organizations, security agencies among others are expected to participate in the discussion.
