NPFL: Kano Pillars complain over postponed Kada City fixture

Kano Pillars’ media officer, Idris Malikawa says the decision by League Management Company (LMC) to postpone their fixture away to Kada City of Kaduna has disrupted his side’s plans for the season’s first stage.

Malikawa pointed out Sai Masu Gida had already finalised arrangements to arrive in Kaduna on Tuesday, then play the match on Wednesday, with high hopes of getting a result that could help them end the first stanza top of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Group B table.

He, however, complained that seeing the week nine game shifted to a new date, which has not even been picked by the LMC, means Pillars will have to adjust their plans and fix new schedules all over again.

The City of Groundnut Pyramid club’s spokesman, however, stressed that the former back-to-back league champions are determined to avoid any form of distraction and stay focused on finishing top of the group table.

Sports247.ng learnt further that the players will keep training and keep the fixture top of their mind, as Malikawa says they believe victory away in The City of Crocodiles is one of their steps towards winning the pool.

On his part, Pillars’ technical adviser, Musa Ibrahim said the team will now embark on a five-day break and resume on Monday, but also expressed dismay over postponement of their outstanding match with Kada City.
