NPFL: Heartland GM, coach get 2-match ultimatum

The management of Heartland FC of Owerri has read the riot act to the team’s Technical Adviser Christian Obi.

Rising from a management meeting with the Technical Crew and the Supporters Club.
The Management frowned at the poor run of results which had seen the team record three points from four games.

The management was dissatisfied with the present state of the club, after the team got necessary support from the government through the Honourable Commissioner for Sports, Honourable Emeka Okoronkwo.

The Special Adviser to the governor on Heartland matters, Sir Emmanuel Ochiagha bemoaned the administrative flaws of the Management alongside the recruitment process.

“The good People of Imo State deserve better, The team lacks leadership and accountability. The Technical Adviser must work hand in glove with the Management.”

The Commissioner for Youths, Sports and Social Development, Hon Emeka Okoronkwo, expressed disappointment at the current state of the club despite Government providing for the needs of the team.

He faulted the actions of some management members and demanded a change immediately.

It was resolved that the duo of Coach Christian Obi and the General Manager Mr Promise Nwachukwu has two games to save their jobs.

The management reiterated that only a win in the next two games against Abia Warriors (away) and Rivers United (home) will suffice.

In another related event the Management of Heartland has dissociated herself from a fictitious report which claimed that players were held hostage after Matchday four game against Katsina United.

The Supporters Club only protested to the management concerning the team’s poor form and demanded a change.

Infact they called for the sack of the Technical Adviser Coach Christian Obi.

Traditionally after a game the Supporters Club will usually dance around the team before they leave the Stadium but because of the result, they were chanting for the sack of the Coach.

The Supporters Club did not at any point resort to violence or threat but they simply demanded a change in the fortunes of our darling Club.
