Nov. 11: Ganduje rallies support for Hope Uzodimma’s re-election in Imo

National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has rallied the people of Imo States to queue behind the re-election bid of Governor Hope Uzodimma in the state.

Ganduje, alongside Vice President Kashim Shettima, APC Governors, Ministers, Senators and various other party leaders were in attendance on Wednesday during the official flag off of Governor Hope Uzodimma’s election campaign ahead of November 11 poll.

Addressing the large gathering of supporters and party members, Ganduje, who led all the APC National Working Committee (NWC) to the event, thanked Governor Uzodimma for remarkable projects he has been able to do for the benefit of Imo people.

The National Chairman said: “I have to thank the governor of Imo State, our incoming governor again for providing to the people of Imo State, we can see remarkable projects in terms of infrastructural amenities, in the area of education, in the area of health, in the area of agriculture and very importantly in the area of security.

The Governor has started so many important projects for the good people of Imo State. You have completed many of them, many of them are ongoing now and many are on the drawing board, therefore, I urge the people of Imo Stat in order to have continuity we need to elect the same governor as governor of Imo state.

“It is important, because it has become a culture when new government comes it abandon the works of the previous government, so we are urging you in your own case that we need continuity, continuity will lead to consolidation, consolidation will lead to sustainability, sustainability will lead to progress and progress will lead to prosperity. So we urge you to re-elect Hope as your governor. 

“According to a research, investigation, public opinion, we have found out that there is one political party in Imo state, and that party is APC. So we urge you to vote for Hope. Would you vote for Hope? Anybody who does not vote for Hope, in the alternative, that person is voting for hopeless.”

For the Vice President Shettima, who stood in for President Bola Tinubu, said the President holds the people of Imo and by extension the South-east people in high esteem.

The VP also emphasized the need for consolidation, saying “For the purposes of consolidation and continuity ensure you re-elect Hope Uzodimma.”

Senator Shettima declared that “President Bola Tinubu is 1000 times behind the re-election of Governor Hope Uzodimma in Imo state.”

In his speech, Governor Hope Uzodimma, who spoke of his achievements in the state since his emergence, said the Imo state he met is no longer the Imo state of today, adding that lives has become for meaningful to the people of Imo state.

Uzodimma said: “I want to assure you that I will not take your support for granted. I call on all the members of our party, the PDP, the Labour Party and others, who have join us to show the national leadership of APC that they have decamped.”

While thanking the APC leadership in attendance, the Governor assured the party’s national leadership that Imo is synonymous to APC, hence victory is certain come November 11. 

In his own, Chairman of the National Campain Council and Governor of Cross River state, Senator Basi Otu, tasked the people of Imo to ensure  that the Renewed Hope Agenda that is taking place in Imo state is sustained.

According to him, Hope Uzodinma is going to the election with almost unopposed, assuring that the election is already won and lost in favour of APC.

Speaking unbehalf of the APC Governors, Ogun state governor, Dapo Abiodun, said the achievements of governor Hope is well written on the faces of the people of Imo.

Abiodun said: “Because Imo state is an APC state. So there is no vacancy in Imo state, any other political party in Imo state is counterfeit.”
