Nothing can stop Gbajabiamila’s speakership – Campaign team

The Gbaja For Speaker Civil Society Coalition (GFS-CSC) has advised all contenders against Femi Gbajabiamila for the position of speaker of the 9th House of Representatives to step down for the majority leader.

The group stated this “no force can stop the well-deserved victory of Femi Gbajabiamila as the next Speaker of the House of Representatives”, according to a statement signed by its director general Dr Abdulmumin Jibrin said.

The statement said there is the need for other speakership aspirants, including Idris  Wase, John Dyegh, Umar Bago, and others “to step down and get integrated into the Gbajabiamila structure before it is too late to do so”.

The statement noted that as far as the 9th assembly was concerned, there is no doubt that Gbajabiamila stands out as the best and only candidate for the office.

“We feel convinced that in spite of mischievous intrigues, the victory of indefatigable and erudite Femi Gbajabiamila as the next speaker of the House of Representatives is signed, sealed an waiting to be delivered next month”, it said.

It called on the ” outgoing Speaker Dogara and the entire leadership of the house not to bite the finger that fed them and helped raise them to current pedestals, but to facilitate the smooth transition to a more vibrant and progressive era of House leadership under Gbajabiamila.”

It also tasked the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress Party (APC), the presidency, state governors elected on the platform of the APC and not less than 260 members of the 9th National Assembly’s House of Representatives to ensure a landslide speakership victory for Gbajabiamila.
