No voter’s card, no empowerment, Ebonyi lawmaker threatens, scheme out constituents

Hon. Chinedu Ogah representing Ezza South/Ikwo Federal Constituency of Ebonyi state has told his constituents that the only way to get empowerment from the government is by obtaining their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC).

Oga disclosed this during breakfast and empowerment of Okada riders in his constituency as part of the activities marking his 46th birthday celebration.

The celebration started on Tuesday with breakfast with the artisans, visitations to the old and destitute homes, motherless baby’s home, and payment of medical bills for the indigent at Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching hospital Abakaliki.

It lasted until Thursday with the inauguration and supervision of his constituency project among others.

The grand finale of the celebration is said to be on Saturday July 2, 2022.

Addressing the Okada riders, Ogah who focused actions on PVC, schemed out those without the card in the breakfast and empowerment programme.

He said, “What we are doing now is operation show your voter’s card, no voters card no empowerment, no voters card no good road, no street light. The only thing we ask of you is to get your PVC. All the Okada riders here if you have your PVC we will give you fuel and money.”

Inaugurating the civic center at Ezza South, Ogah urged the traditional rulers to make peace wherever there is a dispute in the constituency and promised to look into their welfare.

“We will try our best to look into the welfare of the traditional rulers, we will do whatever know we can because you people are the custodians of our culture.
If there is a place where Ikwo and Ezza people are having problems the Traditional rulers should go and resolve it we are one.

“One thing I want to assure you people is that we will write history when I must have finished my first tenure and anybody that will go to the National Assembly that will be able to achieve what I achieved in one year I will give the person N1 billion.

“I want to urge our people to continue to be united. let us not divide our votes, being in opposition has deprived us of so many dividends before let us not allow it to repeat. Vote for APC in the general election”.

Commending Ogah’s performance, the member representing Ningiwa federal constituency, Bauchi state at the House of representatives,  Abdulahi Sa’ad Abdukadu said,” This is the second year I’m identifying with my colleague, Chinedu Ogah, my perception of his activities, in general, is satisfactory and heart-warming, I believe that if we have his kind of politician in their numbers in this country we will have happy people everywhere.

“The effort he is making to see that his people are happy is very commendable, he ensured that the dividend of democracy reaches his people. I’m happy for him and I’m happy for the beneficiaries and I want to call on them to ensure that these facilities that have been facilitated by the honorable member to are well taken care of.

“The operation show your PVC by the honorable member is a wake-up call to the people, to motivate them towards their civic responsibilities, it is the responsibility of every citizen who has reached the age of voting to ensure that he or she acquires his PVC. What he has done in essence is his constitutional duty”.
