The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has said that there would be no disruption of air traffic services as from today.
The agency’s General Manager, Public Affairs, Mrs. Jumoke Adetona, said in a press statement issued in Lagos yesterday that the assurance “is line with the agency’s mandate to provide safe, economic, efficient and expeditious air navigation services.”
Adetona who was reacting to last week’s warning strike embarked upon by the Nigerian Air Traffic Controllers’ Association (NATCA) which stalled flights for more than six hours also said the association’s agitation for harmonization of professional allowances with other professional groups in NAMA had been addressed on its merit and resolved by the federal government.

“On the strength of this resolution, there is no cause for any industrial disharmony by professional groups in the agency and further to our commitment to staff welfare, NAMA wishes to reassure the general public of the safety and security of the Nigerian airspace.

“The service delivery capacity of the agency has been at optimum and further enhanced by the recent successful calibration of navigational aids across the country. In line with the agency’s vision, several safety-critical projects…are being closed to fully optimize capacity.
“Airlines, operators and other service providers who are dependent on the agency’s services are advised to go ahead with flights as scheduled,” she said.
