No compromise with Kwankwasiyya – Ganduje

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state has said that he was under no obligation to strike a deal with the Kwankwasiyya faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the face of the dismal events that had preceded his victory during the 2015 gubernatorial election in Kano.
Speaking at a function in Kano on Monday, Ganduje said he was completely disillusioned with the turns of events and the degree of mudslinging against his leadership at the time he found himself in the saddle of authority as the duly elected governor of Kano, adding that his administration was much maligned and taken to task with no justifiable premise.
He said: “We have had enough of such a vendetta which had been raging with no end in sight. We have parted ways with Kwankwasiyya forever. Even the red caps we are wearing had started changing its colour. We are on the road to shedding the red cap toga because we have realised the fact that we have ruled the possibility of compromise.
“They have erroneously believed and telling people that we are on the road to losing our seat in the 2019 general election. I find such a permutation laughable and a mere ranting of a wounded lion. We will never be moved and shaken by such a crafty conspiracy theory. All we know is that the electorate will never succumb to such blackmail.
“We have fulfilled most of the promises we have made during the 2015 gubernatorial campaign, knowing that it was a burden we must shoulder. Taking a cursory look at our stunning accomplishments would make even the doubting Thomases to be convinced that we are no masters of rhetoric; we are always matching our words with action no more, no less.”
