NEDC trains 60 technicians at Mainstream Academy 

  

The North  East  Development Commission  (NEDC)  has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)  with  Mainstream Energy Academy to train 60 youth from the north eastern states of  the federation for  8 weeks electrical technicians training  programme. 

The youth, who were drawn from the six states of the North-east as part of the commission’s mandate on developmental and transformational interventions, the Managing Director /CEO, NEDC, Ambassador Mohammed Goni Alkali,   at the ceremony said the MoU was entered after survey of the situations in the North-east  by the commission as a result of the effects of the insurgency with a view to intervene where necessary. 

Speaking weekend during the signing of the MoU held at the NEDC Headquarters Conference Room, Maiduguri, Ambassador Alkali added, “during the research, large size of the population were discovered be youth, both male and female, either unemployed or finished school without job, neither  self employed which made  the commission to embark on sending many youth to school to study various skills and even vocational training as well as professional acquisition like this partnership. 

“So, the commission, in collaboration with the Mainstream Academy is sponsoring 8-week skill training for 60 Electrical Technicians from the 6 states of the North-east. The programme is aimed at exposing the high-Power Electrical Installation/ Maintenance at the Academy.”
