NDE disburses N 2.4m loan to 48 Kano youth 

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has reaffirmed its determination to addressing the challenge of unemployment among the teeming youth of the country.

Director General of the agency, Malam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, disclosed this during the orientation and flag off ceremony for the provision of facilities to the agricultural enhancement scheme held in Kano.

Malam Nuhu Fikpo, who was represented by the state coordinator of the scheme in Kano, Malam Àbdulkareem Yahaya Sirika said the implementation of the agricultural enhancement scheme would not have been possible without the kind support and approval of the Minister of Labour and Employment.

He charged the beneficiaries to make adequate utilisation of the soft loans given to them, aimed becoming self employed and employers of labour.

Malam Fikpo explained that for almost four decades, the Directorate had been tackling the rise in unemployment through series of different demand driven skills in entrepreneurial , agricultural, vocational and enterprises creation for young school leavers and unemployed graduates searching for employment to embrace self employment.

In his remark, the Deputy Director Rural Employment Promotion Department, Oruoyehu Beatrice, said the programme would create employment and generate wealth.
