Mangu village attack: Wase urges proactive measures

The deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Idris Wase, has condemned the attack in Kulben village of Kombun District of Mangu local government area of Plateau state.

In a statement issued Friday by his chief press secretary, Umar Puma, he expressed sadness and grief over the casualties occasioned by the attack, and prayed to God to give the families of victims the fortitude to bear the painful losses.

He, however, charged security agencies to ensure the perpetrators are arrested and brought to book, even as called for proactive measures against such attacks in the future.

“It is with heavy heart that I join other well-meaning Nigerians in condemning this dastardly act coming just at the turn of the New Year. The security operatives must not rest on their oars in fishing out the perpetrators. I call on security agencies in the state to spare nothing in ensuring that justice prevail for the victims and the people of Plateau state,” the statement quoted the deputy speaker as saying.

Also, Wase in the message extended his sincere condolences to the people and government of Plateau state.
