Mamelodi Sundowns arrive S/Africa today

Newly crowned African Champions League winners,  Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club of South Africa will be arriving home early this  morning at OR Tambo Airport to what is expected to be a ecstatic welcome.
Their arrival will come two days after their heroics in Alexandria where they became only the second South African team to win the top club prize in Africa by beating Zamalek of Egypt 3-1 on aggregate in the finals of the most lucrative cup in the continent.
Flight vagaries meant Sundowns could not book themselves back before and have been in Cairo since Tuesday waiting to board their Egypt Air flight which will departure late on Tuesday evening.
Sundowns have been in Egypt since last Thursday, having headed straight to Alexandria from Cairo Airport on arrival.
But they left the Mediterranean port city on Monday to spent the night in Cairo.
The club trained in Cairo on Monday to stay tuned for their next assignment which is against Polokwane City at home on Thursday in the first round of the Telkom Knockout.
By virtue of the victory, Mamelodi Sundowns will be the first South African club to play at the FIFA Club World Cup and will be representing the continent in the tournament later in the year.
