Makinde declares Wednesday public holiday for Hijrah 1445

The Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde, has declared Wednesday, July 19 as public holiday in commemoration of this year’s Hijrah 1445.

This was contained in a circular signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi, and  made available to journalists in Ibadan by the chief press secretary to Governor Makinde, Mr Sulaimon Olanrewaju.

In the circular, Governor  Makinde congratulated  the Muslim faithful on the commencement of the New Year, Hijrah 1445.

The governor then urged the Muslim faithful to use the occasion to pray for the peace, unity and sustainability of the state in particular and the country in general.
