Large voters’ turnout in Garki 2 as card reader malfunctions

Barely one hour into election, card readers deployed to polling unit 003 in Garki 2, is malfunctioning.

The presiding officer, Bello Abdulrazaq Ayobami, journalists that they were forced to improvise in line with the recommendations of the commission to ensure persons vote.

Ayobami who stated that the situation was reported to INEC, however said the turnout of voters has been large.

He added that the voters were peaceful and cooperative.

The APC agent at the polling unit, Hon Ahmad Bankilong, corroborated that the election has been peaceful. He said the INEC materials arrived on time and that voting started as early as 8am.

However, while the election lasted, tricycle riders entertained onlookers with display of stunt.

Their display was greeted with shouts of Sai Baba by the cheering crowd made up largely by children and teenagers
