Lalong vows to rehabilitate Jos Polo ground, crown as grand patron


Governor Simon Lalong, has promised that the Jos Polo ground will soon be rehabilitated, to enable smooth usage by members of the polo club.

The governor, commended the NASCO group of companies, for its continuous support of the polo tournament and other sporting activities in the state.

He said: “I don’t promise some thing that we will not fulfill, I assured you that very soon we will rehabilitate the ground

Lalong said the state government has made arrangements to get a permanent venue for trade fair which usually held at the polo ground..

Governor, Lalong made the statement, at the Polo ground, where an investiture in his honour, was done and crowned as the grand patron of the Polo club, held at the instance of NASCO group, to marked the 60th anniversary of Nigeria’s independence. 

Lalong while accepting the investiture said he will continue to support the growth of the game in the State.

The President of Jos Polo club. Alhaji Murtala Ahmad Laushi, said the investiture of the governor was in recognition of his enormous contribution to the development of sports in general and polo in particular. 

Laushi, said the club is gaining its past glories, and due to; ” Your excellencies (Lalong), peace efforts, the Jos  polo club will host the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of polo clubs.”

The event featured the symbolic planting of trees to promote the campaign for a forestation, carried out by Lalong as well as the executive chairman of Nasco Group, Dr. Attia Nasreddin.
