Lagos-Kano bound train crushes man to death

A Lagos-Kano bound train in the early hours of yesterday crushed a middle-aged man to death in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.
The incident, which occurred at Isaac Mowo Street, opposite Ilorin office of Coca-Cola Bottling Company, threw people into panic.
The moving train was said to have had a stopover in Ilorin.

At noon when our reporter visited the scene, the headless body of the deceased was found lying helplessly on the rail track with left hand and leg also cut-off.
The lifeless body was laced with flies and while the stench oozing from the decomposed body permeated the air.
The identity of the man was yet to be ascertained when the report was being filed.

A source at the railway station told journalists that the Superintendent Station Officer of the Nigeria Railway Corporation, Ilorin, had been briefed about the incident, promising that the dead body would be removed soon.
