A socio-political group under the auspices of Kogi West Agenda Forum has berated the Ijumu APC Progressive Minds for calling on national body of the party for the suspension of Senator Smart Adeyemi from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The group at a press conference held in Lokoja, Sunday, said the parley was organised to set records straight for the purpose of debunking the insinuation peddled by Ijumu APC Progressive Minds, describing the claims as misinformation capable of heating up the political atmosphere in Kogi state.
Spokesman of Kogi West Agenda Forum, Alhaji Bawa Dangana, while reacting to a press conference held on Wednesday, 19th April, 2023 by Ijumu APC Progressive Minds, described the convener, Mr. Kamal Toyin as unregistered member of APC who cannot speak or represent the party at any level let alone calling for the suspension of the Senator representing Kogi west senatorial district.
“Kogi West Agenda Forum wishes to set records straight and debunk the insinuation peddled by the so called ljumu APC Progressive Minds, lamented the misinformation, misleading presentation and heating up of the polity.”
”For the avoidance of doubt, Mr. Kamal Toyin, is not a registered member of our great party, as we believe he is from the opposition party, a serial betrayer and unreliable personality to be distanced and avoided.
“For the records and posterity, Distinguished Sen. Smart Adeyemi, CON has been a loyal servant, reliable representative of the good people of Kogi West Senatorial District and at no time has he disobeyed constituted authorities at any levels of government.
”Senator Adeyemi has contributed immensely and is still contributing to the well-being of Kogites generally and good governance. The lawmaker is a personality and representative who traversed the length and breadth of north central geopolitical zone of Nigeria.”
He wondered how someone would claim that the same Senator Smart Adeyemi who has done a lot for the party could now be associated or linked with anti-party activities, describing the allegation as unthinkable, absurd and falsehood of the century.
